Multimedia juggernaut Bushiroad has launched a number of different franchises that span anime, games, and more. One of the company’s creations picking up momentum is BanG Dream! Debuting in the late 2010s, this musical-themed franchise has spawned an anime series and a mobile game.
BanG Dream! tells the stories of several all-girl bands and seeks to set itself apart from the idol genre, stressing the fact that some bands offer a completely different experience by playing instruments live during performances. As of now, there are seven five-girl groups, each with its own unique sound and aesthetic.
BanG Dream! Girls Band Party! is the franchise’s free-to-play mobile rhythm game available on both iOS and Android. Set sometime after the anime’s first season, the player can progress through a main storyline, stories featuring individual bands, and even special event stories. Fans can not only enjoy various songs from the BanG Dream! universe, but also songs from other popular franchises, like the Vocaloid project and Re:Zero – Starting Life in Another World.
