Fan Art of R3BIRTH, Love Live!’s Hottest Unit

Love Live! fans, have you heard about R3BIRTH? Friends and club members Shioriko Mifune, Mia Taylor, and Lanzhu Zhong make up this unit. Originally appearing in the game Love Live! School Idol Festival All Stars, the girls will be making their anime debut in the second season of the hit series Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club.

In the canon lore, the group decides on this name because of all three girls rediscovering their passion for music and being an idol and growing stronger as a result. Their name was actually submitted by a popular YouTuber and has the distinction of being the third group name to come from someone outside of Japan.

Since the release of their debut single MONSTER GIRLS on October 6, 2021, the trio has garnered quite a following of fans, many of whom have contributed their own fan art of the idol trio. But just who are the lovely ladies that make up R3BIRTH?

Shioriko Mifune

Shioriko is a first-year student and the second daughter of the prestigious and wealthy Mifune family. In Love Live! School Idol Festival All Stars, her desire to become student council president and disband the Nijigasaki High School Idol Club put her at odds with the club members, but her kindness and strong sense of justice eventually shine through.

Mia Taylor

14-year-old Mia is the franchise’s first American character, hailing from New York. Despite currently being the franchise’s youngest member, she’s enrolled as a third-year student after skipping multiple grade levels. She’s bilingual, speaking both Japanese and English fluently, and has even taken university courses in America before moving to Japan.

Lanzhu Zhong

Second-year Lanzhu has been friends with Shioriko for years and was the one who convinced Mia to enroll at Nijigasaki High School. Gifted in a number of areas and the daughter of the school's chairwoman, Lanzhu is insecure about being constantly treated as “special”. She’s also trilingual, speaking Mandarin, Cantonese, and Japanese fluently.
