Fan Art of One Piece: Red’s Uta - Riding The Waves of The Newest Adventure
One Piece: Red, the megahit franchise’s 15th featured animated movie surged into theaters on August 6, 2022, and fans across the globe are clamoring to see what sort of mischief Luffy and the Straw Hat Crew get up to this time.
Who is Uta?
With theatrical releases in Australia, Canada, Japan, New Zealand, and the U.S., One Piece: Red introduces a new key character with a rather interesting lineage. Uta is a globally beloved yet secretive songstress who, while gifted with a voice hailed as “otherworldly”, hides her true identity from the world.
Deciding to reveal herself during a live concert attended by a swarm of adoring fans – and of course, Luffy and the gang. Her revelation sets the entire story in motion and leads our heroes into an adventure full of surprises.
Uta herself, however, has been making waves ever since the film was first announced on November 21, 2021, in conjunction with the release of the manga’s 1000th chapter. Fans were even more shocked when teasers and trailers revealed a possible past connection between her and Luffy.
Some lucky fans in Tokyo got an early view of the film during a limited release on July 22, 2022, in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the manga’s first chapter being published.
Now that manga creator and film producer Eiichiro Oda has announced that the manga is coming to an end with the announcement of its final arc on July 25, 2022, fans have begun to wax poetic about the series. One Piece: Red definitely shows that while the end is in sight, there are still a lot more waves for the Straw Hat Gang to traverse.
We’ve collected some amazing artwork of Uta to help celebrate the release of the movie that has been one of the most anticipated releases of the summer. Do you think any of the illustrations below really pack a punch?
