Fans have been honoring the virtual songstress Hatsune Miku on March 9th for years. This will be her 16th year of serenading us with her lovely voice. Why March 9th, you ask? In Japanese, the numbers 3 and 9 can be pronounced as "mi" and "ku", respectively.
