Drawings Featuring Skulls - Cloaked in Darkness
What could be more symbolic of life and death than a human skull? Often serving as a reminder of our mortality, skulls are commonly used to depict all things dark and gruesome. Even a cute and peaceful drawing can suddenly take on a tinge of the macabre by adding a skull or two. Moreover, they can appear even more sinister when paired with other objects, such as flowers, ribbons, or candles. That said, skulls can also be a way to celebrate and honor the life of a deceased loved one, such as on Día de los Muertos, aka The Day of the Dead.
