Conveying a character’s emotions through their facial expressions is an impressive feat in itself, but painting a story without showing their face at all requires a different kind of skill. The result can pack a punch when done effectively; seeing a character stand resolutely in the face of danger or gazing off into the distance with their back facing us can feel oddly moving.
