Jujutsu Kaisen has been running in the manga serial magazine, Weekly Shonen Jump, since 2018. The anime adaptation, from studio MAPPA, premiered on October 2nd, 2020 and has brought the series a lot of attention.

Yuji Itadori is a first-year high school student who never knew his parents and was raised by his grandfather. Yuji ends up swallowing a cursed object (a rotting finger) to help Megumi Fushiguro. He becomes the host of Sukuna, a powerful Curse. Megumi’s teacher, Satoru Gojo, decides to take Yuji to the Tokyo Metropolitan Magic Technical College to propose a plan to his superiors - he wants to postpone Yuji’s death sentence until he consumes all of Sukuna’s fingers, allowing them to kill him once and for all.
