What is The Quintessential Quintuplets?
The Quintessential Quintuplets is a rom-com manga created by Negi Haruba that follows the main character Futaro Uesugi, who becomes a tutor to five beautiful and identical quintuplet sisters. Unfortunately, the sisters hate studying and are on the verge of flunking out of high school, leaving Uesugi unsure of how he'll be able to get them to graduate.
The manga has been praised for its unique yet complicated storyline, while still managing to be a typical romantic comedy.

Futaro Uesugi
An avid academic achiever, Uesugi is not only at the top of his high school class, but even ranked third in the national mock exams. While he excels in the world of academia, his stoic and blunt personality hasn't left him with many friends. As a way of helping his poor and indebted family who run a small cafe beneath their apartment, Futaro rarely splurges on things like food, preferring to have his sister use that money to live a normal life. His family's financial situation is what spurs him to take on the task of tutoring the Nakano sisters.
Ichika Nakano
As Ichika is the eldest of the five Nakano sisters, she is very caring toward them and bears a strong sense of responsibility. She dreams of becoming an actress, so she works to balance her schoolwork with filming and other work. She's not great when it comes to housekeeping.
Nino Nakano
The highly sociable second daughter of the Nakano family. She has a winning personality and deeply values the bond between her and her sisters. Unlike Ichika, Nino is highly capable when it comes to taking care of household chores and is also a very good cook.
Miku Nakano
The mysterious and quiet third daughter of the Nakano family. She is not only adept at masking her emotions, she's also skilled at disguising herself as one of her sisters and is even sometimes asked to take their place. She is a huge history buff and is obsessed with military commanders of the Warring States period.
Yotsuba Nakano
The active and cheerful fourth daughter of the Nakano family. Despite her bright personality, Yotsuba is a bit of a people pleaser, is unable to refuse requests, and is prone to hiding her true feelings. Out of all of the Nakano sisters, Yotsuba has the lowest test scores. What she lacks in academic aptitude, she makes up for with her athleticism.
Itsuki Nakano
The youngest Nakano sister. Itsuki is a serious and hardworking person, but she is far from academically inclined. As such, her educational efforts don't bear much fruit. She's also known for her large appetite!.
