She and the protagonist Monkey D. Luffy are long-separated childhood friends who have reunited thanks to the events that take place in the film.
Fans in Japan have been completely enthralled by Uta's voice provided by voice actress Kaori Nazuka, while her singing voice was provided by Ado, a popular singer. Recently a performance of the film's songs, including its theme song "Shinjidai", was performed live in real-time with a showing of the film, generating a lot of buzz online.
