Slam Dunk is hailed as one of the titans in the world of sports-based manga. Since its Japanese debut in October 1990, this powerhouse manga has gone on to spawn an anime series and several films, the most recent of which, The First Slam Dunk, was at the top of Japan's box office in December 2022.

The main story follows the ups and downs of Shohoku High School’s basketball team as they work to rise through the ranks and become the best team in the nation. 

Power forward and main protagonist Hanamichi Sakuragi, team captain and center Takenori Akagi, starting shooting guard Hisashi Mitsui, point guard Ryota Miyagi, and small forward Kaede Rukawa all bring their individual passion and skills to the court, inspiring each other and their adoring fans who’ve kept this franchise going for over 30 years.
