Fan Art of EGOIST - Your Music Lives On in Our Hearts
It’s the end of an era as we bid farewell to a band that’s been releasing fan-favorite anime bangers for over a decade.
EGOIST was a Japanese music duo consisting of songwriter and music producer Ryo of Supercell and vocalist Chelly. They were initially formed to produce music for the fictional band by the same name in the anime series Guilty Crown, with Chelly assuming the persona of the vocalist Inori Yuzuriha.
After the show ended, the duo continued to produce more music, including the theme songs for well-known series such as Psycho-Pass, Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress, and Fate/Apocrypha. From upbeat electronic rock to mid-tempo ballads, Ryo’s genre-defying style paired with Chelly’s soft and emotional vocals garnered countless fans around the world.
EGOIST had announced earlier this year that they would be holding their first solo concert in three years, the previous being “chrysalizion code 404: convergence” in 2020. On August 26, 2023, they announced on their official website that they would disband following their concerts “EGOIST LIVE 2023 Fleeting Ruby ‘The Crescendo’ 0923 OSAKA” and “EGOIST LIVE 2023 Resonant Indigo ‘Echoes of Everlasting’ 1009 YOKOHAMA”, held on September 23rd and October 9th, respectively.
Today, we’re celebrating EGOIST’S 12 years of history by featuring fan art of the duo in all their splendor. Which of their songs is your favorite, and what are your fondest memories of it?
