Drawings Featuring Torii Gates - Entering the Realm of the Divine
If you’re visiting or living in Japan, you’ve most likely seen a torii gate or two at some point. These traditional Japanese gates are most commonly found at the entrance of shrines and symbolize the transition from the earthly to the sacred. Often, though not always, painted a vibrant red, the distinct color and shape of torii are recognizable from a mile away. While they may sometimes appear eerie, especially at night, there’s something undeniably otherworldly about them, don’t you think?
